I have enjoyed working with many great people over the years, but I scarcely recall anyone with the ability to inspire, creativity, steadfastness and wisdom Josh has displayed consistently since we've been partners.

Starting a business stretches people personally, financially, and emotionally. Most people cannot handle the pressure and uncertainty of that type of environment. I can honestly say Josh was made for it. He has been the steady hand I have often needed when reaching out as a partner. He has inspired our agents and leaders. He has been a constant creative force in our business. He has also provided much needed insight and perspective when we've needed it most. In short, I have been very blessed to have Josh as a partner these past years and hope to have him as a partner and friend for many more to come.

Josh seems to derive his most treasured victories from enabling the success of his associates. It's a great pleasure to be affiliated with the company, Fathom Realty, that Josh founded. It's amazing that Josh always has answers to the most challenging technology questions and he is freely willing to share what he knows. To have the opportunity to work regularly with Josh is a sincere pleasure!

From my first day with Fathom Realty, I have been impressed with the creative vision of Joshua Harley. This man saw the future of real estate and recreated it in Fathom as the most attentive and agent-centric company in the nation. Guided by his determination and his faith, Josh focuses on the delivery of service to agents, clients and the general public. He does not see helping anyone as stooping too low, makes himself accessible and responsive and exhibits and models effective leadership and service at every step. When Fathom covers the nation as the top realty firm, it will be due to the determination and diligence of Josh Harley!

Josh has the vision, passion and servant's heart that has propelled Fathom Realty from an idea of his to a vibrant, profitable multi-state enterprise. With his clients, agents and management staff in mind on every decision: he looks at the big picture and long term growth - instead of quarterly financials. I am flattered to have been selected to be on his team very early in the development of Fathom, and proudly call Josh a trusted friend and business partner.

It is indeed unique to find a skilled leader, manager, communicator, businessman, and technology superstar all rolled into one. What's even more unusual is when that someone cares deeply about the people in their organization to the extent that that genuine concern for others becomes a filter through which all leadership decisions are made at the corporate level. At Fathom Realty we talk about our culture that is predicated on servant leadership. It's not just a slogan. It is being practiced every day at all levels of the organization because Josh Harley is leading by example and fostering an environment where nice guys do finish first.

Josh Harley is most inspirational person I have ever worked for. He never managed me, instead he helped me discover the correct path. He was always ready with positive reinforcement and support. Josh made sure that I accomplished my personal goals and gave me a nudge when I needed it. In addition Josh is an excellent teacher, he never made me feel inferior. His knowledge of marketing and technology is second to none. However the most important compliment I can pay Josh is he has the highest integrity of anyone I have ever known. Even though I no longer work directly with Josh, he remains my mentor.

After decades of experience in real estate, development, appraisals, and auctioneers... I am not easily impressed. However, Josh Harley got my attention before I even knew he was a competitor and a leader and now a partner! His cartoons caught my attention, then his technology, then his vision for our industry hooked me - as the truth! Once I realized he understood the future of our industry I could not walk away. I am an experienced broker unusually embracing our changing industry. Josh and all the Fathom Realty team have the desire to lead our industry because it is a labor of love. When you understand your business is your mission - when you understand you serve a higher power for a greater good - when you see with your own eyes that leadership is focused on the need of the public - then it is easy to join - easy to be accepted and provides the appreciation we seek as professionals! Professionals in the real estate industry like Joshua Harley are one of a kind!

Joshua Harley is the most amazing individual I have ever met or worked for. He is not only intelligent, wise, a brilliant and creative visionary Leader, he has a genuine concern and caring heart to help and serve others, especially his Realtors. Josh is not only our CEO & Founder of Fathom, he is also a Mentor and Teacher to all of his agents. His technology background and expertise in real estate has enabled him to design, build and implement the most sophisticated systems for his Realtors, to enable them to take their profession to the next level and succeed. It's about the Realtors to Josh, not about Josh. Besides being a true Servant to his agents, I call him Superman and I feel blessed and honored to have the privilege to be amongst his management staff. Josh has created and implemented "the future of real estate" with Fathom Realty. What a blessing he is!

Josh continues to lay a foundation so that all of the real estate professionals at Fathom can grow and evolve into not only industry leaders but also leaders in their personal lives. Josh has an amazing knack to anticipate where our industry is headed and lead Fathom in the direction of the changes rather than taking 2 steps back. I'm fortunate to have the honor of taking this journey with Josh.

I enjoy working with people who are constant learners. For those who are helping consumers learn more about buying and selling Real Estate, this is a truly important trait.

Josh Harley is one of those people who constantly adjusts to the ever changing technology landscape, dedicating hours each week to research. Because of this, Josh generates more leads than anyone I know of in the Real Estate Industry - hands down.

Josh is also passionate about building a company with like minded professionals who put customer service and "being the good guy" at the top of their values list. If you have the chance to talk to Josh, I encourage you to do so!

I first met Josh when Fathom was just getting rolling in the DFW market and I'm proud to say I'm one of the original Fathom agents. Josh is so much more than our CEO...and wears so many hats. His vision of creating a real estate brand that is indeed about serving the agent and not about the broker is reason for our explosive growth. I'm truly blessed to call Josh a friend and serve beside him with this amazing company.

I am continually amazed at the vast knowledge Josh has on so many subjects; technology, marketing, SEO optimization, et al. But possibly his major asset is the way he treats his "customer", i.e., his Fathom agents. Fathom Realty, at Josh's direction, offers so many benefits to their agents; technology, training, mentorship and coaching, all in addition to a 100% commission program. There is a reason Fathom is growing at such a phenomenal rate: the leadership of Joshua Harley and the staff he has put together.

I met and talked with Josh at length one afternoon and he shared his vision to build a real estate organization that would be filled with technology in order for every agent joining the group would have all the greatest resources to enable them to build their individual businesses. I had those same visions. After working with all the best real estate companies around plus owning my own brokerages and managing offices for the purpose of finding the best business model for my team, I have truly found just what I've been looking for. And, beside finding my visions at Fathom, Josh has even enhanced the resources beyond my imagination. It's been an awesome experience watching Fathom grow into a company that really cares about it's agents and leadership. It's been an answer to my prayers and a blessing to my family.

My decision to change brokerages to Fathom is a direct result of the leadership of Joshua Harley. His genuine heart, philosophy and actions are always with the intention of serving others. Joshua Harley ensured that Fathom had the technology to exceed the needs of real estate agents and continues to make the necessary changes to stay abreast of rapid technology changes. Josh Harley is man of character and heart and it is my absolute pleasure to know him.

Josh is able to encourage those to think and live big, He can challenge them to go after big dreams and magnify their unique talents. When others say"I'll try", Josh say's "I'll do", and he commits to finishing no matter what. Average leaders lead followers; while Josh lead leaders.

I have been an agent at Fathom Realty for several years and have seen many changes implemented to keep us at the leading edge of Real Estate. I have never seen a single change made without the leadership team giving great thought as to how it would affect us positively as agents. My Musings

After months of people asking me over and over again to share my past Facebook and Twitter quotes in one place so they could find and share, I did, albeit reluctantly. It feels a little self-aggrandizing and I'm sorry for that.
To serve others is to give of yourself without expectations of reciprocation.
Before you say "I can't", first ask, "how can I?". You'll be amazed at the solutions your beautiful mind will create.
In dealing with others, questions always trump assumptions.
Don't be the victim of your story, be the hero. Make the decision to stand up and fight for a better life by becoming a better you.
Do you search for consensus or do you mold consensus? Too often a leader will look to surround themselves with yes-men who agree with everything they say or do. It's important to surround yourself with people who will challenge you. If you can build consensus from a group of people who challenge you, then THAT is true leadership.
Knowledge is not power. It is merely potential power. Knowledge only becomes power when it is organized into plans of action and executed on.
If you strive solely for success, the chance of failure is high. Instead, strive to be of value to others and success in life will be guaranteed.
Achieving success is a wonderful feeling but it pales in comparison to helping others achieve their own success.
Mistakes are merely stepping stones of learning and growth on your path to success.
If you really want to annoy someone who dislikes you, love them and show them kindness. They will either go away or their heart will change.
Why is common sense so uncommon?
The value of your words are greater than the level of your voice.
If success in business is getting up one more time than you have fallen down, then success in life is reaching down and helping up those who have not yet gotten back up.
There are times when patience can be a more powerful force than brute strength.
When another human starves to death, it's not because God did not care, it's because we failed to heed God's call to serve others. How will you serve your community today?
A child's love begins with his mother. Her embrace is the favored place to cry and seek healing. Anyone can become a mother but it takes a special woman to be a mom. Her soft words and her tender touch can have the most powerful and lifelong effect on a child. She was made in God's image and bears His beauty and loving heart. I am thankful to have four such women in my life.
Fathers, every little girl needs to know she is beautiful and that someday a man will want her and be willing to fight for her. That validation starts with you as does the health of her future relationships.
In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.
If you ask me to lead, I will lead by example and with a servant's heart.
It's been said that nothing teaches like experience. Pain and suffering teach us endurance and empathy. The experience of mercy and forgiveness inclines us to be more merciful and forgiving. We gain moral maturity each day precisely because each day brings some difficulty that we must overcome. Remain strong and persevere, and you will be the better for it. The bible tells us to "consider it pure joy … whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything" (James 1:2-4)
'Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;' 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. Why is it easier to be patient with strangers than those we love? I am guilty of this all too often. Are you? Will you join me in a renewed effort to be patient, kind, and considerate?
You are truly blessed when you can count on both hands the ones you love. Money comes and goes, toys get old, but not love, love is eternal. Make it count.
If a husband does not show his wife love, his wife will react without respect; when a wife fails to respect her husband, her husband will react without love... and the cycle will continue until their marriage ends in divorce. Don't wait for your spouse to give you what you need before you give them what they need. End the vicious cycle. "Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband." Eph 5:33
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! For every negative, there's an opportunity to prosper through positive thinking and creative marketing.
Society cannot expect to castrate men and then expect them to fight for their country, their marriages, or even themselves. Let boys' hearts be wild and free, as God designed them to be.
You can choose to be angry about what you don't have, or you can choose to be thankful for what you do have. The choice is yours but please know, only one of those choices will brighten your own life and those around you.
'Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance produces character; and character, hope.' Romans 5-3:4. Has this been true in your life, or have you allowed suffering to lead into despair? Only YOU get to choose how life's challenges will affect you. Allow them to strengthen you, build character, and in turn give you hope.
'All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.' Proverbs 14:23. I often hear people talking about getting rich through some new idea but never truly put forth the hard work required to succeed. Ideas are a dime a dozen, it's what you DO that yields success. I'd like to challenge everyone (myself included) to stop talking and start doing.
When God opens a door, RUN through it, don't walk. Just remember, not every open door is from God. That's where wisdom and discernment comes in.
If your main purpose in life and business is to gain wealth, then you will never be satisfied. This is why so many people are miserable when they become wealthy. What is it you really want in life? Focus on what actually brings joy to you and to others, and you will be satisfied, even if the wealth never comes. (Just a thought after reading Ecclesiastes 5:10 this morning)
Any entrepreneur can take a negative situation and figure out how to personally profit from it. It takes an #entrepreneur with a servant's heart to take that same negative and find a way to make the world a better place. Don't just improve your own life, improve the world.
You know you're an entrepreneur when you catch yourself saying, 'thank God it's Monday!'
'A man skillful in his work will stand before kings' Proverbs 22:29. Success doesn't happen by chance. Strive to become the best at what you do. When you do, you will be seen as the authority in your trade, and then you too can stand before kings.
Forgiveness doesn't mean freedom from consequences. As long as the consequence is fair and delivered in love, then it may be the best thing you can do for the offender, whether that be your employee or your child.
'Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.' (Proverbs 28:13) We all make mistakes, it's human. It's how we handle our mistakes that count. You'll not only receive mercy when you admit your mistake, you'll also earn trust. If you're the one who should be merciful, just remember, you've been there before and you'll be there again. Withhold mercy and risk the same when your time comes.
'Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.' (Matthew 5:44) Easier said than done but it's such a powerful tool for healing, moving on, and growing stronger.
'For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.' (2 Timothy 1:7) I'd like to challenge you today to be courageous in your business, in your personal life, and most importantly in your relationships with others. Love without fear, serve without expectations.
You have to learn to love yourself before you can truly love others. You have to love others before you can truly appreciate life.
One of the greatest things you can teach your children is that of self. Self-awareness, self-esteem, self-worth, self-control, self-discipline, self-motivation, and most important, selflessness.
As a leader, it often takes more strength and discipline to take no action but sometimes the best course of action truly is to take no action.
Take calculated risks. If you have to fail, fail fast and learn as much as you can from it.
Look to the future with courage or you will inevitably look back with regret.
Only the weak are cruel. Gentleness is a sign of true strength. I find it easy to be gentle with those I love but what about those who are different, and those who are difficult to love? Today I will smile gently, speak gently and be gentle with everyone I meet. Will you do the same?
Successful and unsuccessful people do not always vary in their abilities, but they almost always vary in their determination to reach their goals.
Kindness is the language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see (Mark Twain). Today, let's all seek out opportunities to show kindness to others. Even the smallest act of kindness can change someone's life, it could even change your own.
Success in business is not a guarantee for happiness. Remember why you're striving for success in the first place and renew your focus there or you'll find that your business success will only bring unhappiness.
God helps those who help themselves ... that may not be a verse in the Bible but it's a truth that resonates throughout its pages. God may open doors but we have free will. We must take that step through His open door.
Most people have a desire to look for the exception instead of the desire to be exceptional. Sad. I suppose I'm thankful though because if everyone was exceptional then I could only strive to be average.
There are 7 days in a week, and 'someday' isn't one of them! I'd like to challenge you to pick a goal you've set and take action on it today. What will you do today?
'Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial' (James 1:12) I believe that obstacles on the path to success are there to reward those with the perseverance and determination to overcome, and keep out those too weak in mind and spirit to see the obstacle for what it is, a tool for growth.
The Lotus flower takes root and pulls it’s nutrients from the mud. Something so beautiful from something so ugly. The same is true for us. We can choose to use our hardships as fuel for growth and improvement, to become the beautiful person God intended when He designed us. The choice is yours so choose wisely.
Every expert was once a beginner, and every champion a rookie.
You cannot connect with people if you condemn them and you cannot impact them if you avoid them. Find the 1 percent you have in common and give that 1 percent 100 percent of your focus.
Don't focus on chasing success. Be a value to others and success will chase you. This is true of success in both life and business.
It costs money to make money... but you can't spend your way into prosperity. A penny saved is a penny earned... but you can't save what you don't have. It takes a little of both to be financially successful in business and life.
One of my employees passed away today at the young age of 46. "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; ... a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;" Ecclesiastes. May you turn to your loved ones and hug them tightly, thanking God for His greatest earthly blessing, that of family and friends. May you set aside your anger and frustration and instead demonstrate your love and grace because tomorrow is never guaranteed.
'As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.' (Proverbs 27:17) I'd like to encourage you to find someone you meet with once a week to share your successes, failures, struggles and ideas with. Not only will it greatly improve your life and your business, you'll be doing the same for someone else.
He who gives to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward him for what he has done. Proverbs 19:17. This is NOT an argument for wealth redistribution. Too many of us only give our money through taxes and through our church, essentially outsourcing our responsibility to help others. The government has proven worthless in managing the money we give them, let us not be worthless in managing the blessings God has given us. It's time for all of us to join a grassroots effort to change the world and get intimately involved.
I said there is no 'I' in 'team', and then got the odd response, "but there is a 'me' in team"... uh, only if you think it's spelled 'teme'. Sorry, no 'me' in 'team' either.
Don't weaken the strong to strengthen the weak. Rather leverage the strong and weed out the weak. This biblical principle sounds harsh but any farmer will tell you this is the only way to grow a successful crop and in business, it is the only way to grow a successful team, and ultimately a successful company.
I learned early on that to move farther up the ladder you must first be willing to hold the ladder steady for the leader whose authority you're currently under.
Before honor is humility. (Proverbs 15: 33) I love this verse. It's a reminder that real honor comes not through boastful pride but through thinking less about oneself and more about others. Remember, humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking less about yourself.
I am a Christian who believes we are here to love others regardless of our differences. I am a loving father and devoted husband who believes my family is more important than my career or my hobbies. I am a proud American who believes in serving our great nation. I am not perfect nor pretend to be. I am open to new ideas and change as long as those ideas are morally sound. I am a servant before I am a leader. I am my father's son.
